After Lady Jane's splendid sequence of pictures about the Very Long Wait, a collection of snark Attolis Eugenides himself would be proud of, I thought you might all like to see a bona fide string of emails from the evening Thick as Thieves was announced.

It all began with an email from a friend:
PLEASE TELL ME YOU'VE SEEN THE NEWS. I'M GOING TO BURST WITH EXCITEMENT

Me:
YES YES YES!!!
Oh, but HOW are we going to live until May?!?

Then my brother got wind of this:
There should be a smiley for *shaking head and laughing*

Brother:

No, that's a koala with the shivers ;-)

Brother again:
BAD FANGIRL, YOU'VE SCARED A KOALA

Me:


Brother:
YODA THE KOALA AGREES WITH ME.

He can't believe it either. He's double-facepalming!

Me:
AAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!

Brother:


Me:
Look. /You/ are too old to be an over-excited fangirl. Koala to you too ;D

Brother:
Oy, I'm ... I'm a large and very bogus Eddisian! With goats! I'll ... I'll tread on someone!

Brother:
Also, now I'm really worried this entire conversation is going to end up going viral on Tumblr

Me:
Tumblr to you too!!

Brother:
Oh, go on then. Double-koala-dare you.

It really does look like a shivering koala. I gotta say... Definitley crack worthy!

Oh, you should appreciate this. Am I the only one equating the title to the British slang thick, as in a thick brain? Imagine if Eddisians used it that way.
