Since I don’t see any objections to my proposed plans to celebrate the upcoming release of The Return of Thief (thanks for the feedback, BTW), let’s move forward with the organizing!

In order to give us some direction during the “reflections” portion that will be covering the first four books in the series (if you’re already confused as to what I'm talking about read THIS first), I wanted to come up with a set of questions for us to answer each week. The idea being that we'll do a set of these each week for each book, but the questions will remain the same.

Here’s what I got so far…

Favorite line/scene?
Favorite plot twist?
Favorite fanart/fanfic for this book?
How did this book affect you and your life?
When did you first read this particular book?
What were your first impressions and did your opinions change over the years?
Favorite cover/edition of this book?
Did you ever read this book in a language other than English?
Do you own multiple copies of this book? If so, which editions?
Have you ever convinced family/friends/co-workers to read this book?
Any fun stories about sharing this book?
Have you lent out copies that never got returned?
Have you ever listened to the audio book? Which version?
What's your favorite Sounis post about this book?
Any fond memories of discussing this book on Sounis?
If you could choose only one word to describe this book, what word would that be?

Please, let me know if you have ideas for questions or don't like any of these. We’re set to begin reflections for The Thief on Sunday, January 20th, so in a couple of weeks we’ll get started. It’s hard to believe RoT is out there somewhere being edited and all that stuff!

In the meantime, I wanted to open sign-ups for discussion leads for the Thick as Thieves re-read, set to start Sunday, February 17th. If you weren’t with us for the last time we did this, you can read all about how it works and what you’ll be signing up for HERE.

The available parts...

Chapters 1-3 (p1-85 85 pages total)* Feb. 17th - Feb. 23rd

Chapters 4-6 (p86-181 96 pages total)* Feb. 24th - Mar. 2nd

Chapters 7-10 (p182-269 88 pages total)* Mar. 3rd - Mar. 9th

Chapters 11-13+Envoy (p270-337 68 pages total)* Mar. 10th - Mar. 16th

*page numbers are from 2017 hardcover edition

If you’d like to sign up to cover a part, please email me at ninedaysaqueenmod@gmail.com or comment below. Please, let me know which section you’d prefer (if any) and if there are any sections you can not cover due to RL being a pain… XD

The deadline to sign up is Sunday, February 3rd.

If you’re planning to re-read/skim the QT series before the final chapter hits (or steals) the shelf, I hope you'll decide to join us!

I'm excited! This is pretty much the first re-read/reminiscence I've ever signed on to find out about early enough to actually participate instead of trailing behind leaving little comments here and there. I think this will be a fun format! No questions come to mind this late at night, but I'll try to contribute any ideas later if that's helpful.

Thanks for setting this up!

This looks like being lots of fun. I'll be out of town for a few days in the middle, but look forward to following along.

I just finished re-reading TT and hope to make it through the rest before the release. I am also hoping to draw some chapter heading illustrations for TT but we will see if that happens. Whew. I’ll be listening to all the audiobooks rather than actually reading so that makes it a bit more doable.

I had to stop being a lurker (almost 10 years) in order to celebrate this finale. Going through the series again too. But this time--listening to the audio books with my husband (who has never read the series before *ah, true love*).
Excited and nervous for this closure.
Glad to know so many others have made the "20 year journey." :)

I’m just really glad this this site is still running after this time. You guys have done a great job with it.
And thanks. It’s one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite books 😝
