If you had to describe Gen in only three words, what would they be?

I'm not giving an example because i can't narrow it down to just three words... young, stealthy, smart, exasperating, lovable, devious... i could go on for days. Feel free to steal my words :)

I like devious...also clever, and risk-taking. (I'm not sure if risk-taking is the proper way to phrase that, but I'm sure everyone knows what I mean. :P )

Yeah, reckless is better. Man, my brain hasn't been running on all cylinders lately.

I'll change my mind in about 2 min so posting this here isn't a good idea. Oh well...exasperating, devious, lovable

Wait, these are all yours. Nice one Avian!

Vunerable. Annoying (exasperating is better). I like cunning, too. That's a good one.

"An unlikely hero."

Because at the beginning of every book, he really is. First he's a street rat thief with a smart mouth, then he's lost his hand and his hope of doing anything for his country, then (because it's Costis's POV) he's a goatfoot who looks more like an apprentice in a wine shop than a king. His triumphs in each book are surprising and tremendous because he starts as an unlikely hero.

Nice.

Only joking, lol!

Honourable, of course. Underestimated (all the time). And satirical. I love his sense of humour!

Loquations? Is that a word?

By that I mean, "Loquacious".

But I do think loquations is a word. From which the adjective derives.

...Really, I have no idea. And I use the word...somewhat loosely, for comic appeal. But really, it's the first one to pop into my head once I got away from the uberserious, which I thought everyone would have chimed in on.
Like "cocky", "determined", and "compassionate". [Hah! Sneaked 'em in anyhow.] And, in defense of compassionate, I am aware that Attolia and he agreed he wasn't kind. Being kind involves putting others first, being aware of what they need and concerned with doing that. Being compassionate is having concern for those who's need you're entrusted with, and I think that's a key to Eugenides's character.
