queensthiefI've been waiting for a lull in Sounis posts to bring this up, but we are such a chatty bunch I've concluded it won't happen anytime soon. Since I really do want feedback from others on this, here goes ...
In the author notes to the most recent edition of Thief, Megan commented on how she pays tributes to writers who have influenced her the most – Rosemary Sutcliff, Diana Wynne Jones, and Joan Aiken.
I have found several R Sutcliff tributes – The Thief has the emerald dolphin ring, and KoA has the fibula pin from Mark of the Horse Lord (btw, I found the scene in KoA much more chilling after reading Mark of the Horse Lord).
I also noted a quote from Howl’s Moving Castle in KoA (“What a lie that was,” he said.) but did not see the one from Howl in Thief.
So what other tributes and quotes have people found in these books?
