The paperback edition of The King of Attolia is to be released this August, and will feature a new short story as an addition. Most of you already know this, I'm sure. Megan let us know in The Conspiracy Room today that the new short story will be about Eddis as a child. For anyone interested in her exact words:

mwt: there's a new story for peggy2 in the upcoming paperback of koa
...
mwt: no, not the disney one
mwt: a new bit about eddis
mwt: as a child

If anyone fancies trawling through the backlog in the room to find the conversation, it's still there. The password to enter the room can be found through the profile page, or this post.

Edit: The new story apparently features an encounter between a young Eddis and the gods.

*points everyone back to the countdown*

Oh, Hurray!! Even earlier! I already have the hard-cover, but I think I'm sufficiently addicted to need the soft-cover for the story of Eddis. That way I can read it every other month...do we need an GA group (Gen's Anonymous)? Oh wait, that's what this site's for!

Oh wonderful! Thanks for the notice, Ro.

I can't wait to get my hands on the paperback (and not just because of the new story, although that's a nice treat).

I wonder if the cover art will be different... I'll be happy either way, I'm sure./

I just looked for the name of the artist who did the cover illustration (I don't recall ever hearing who it was, and it finally dawned on me that I should just look on the jacket and see). His name is Vince Natale. I feel as if I ought to send him a fan letter, because the artwork is so gorgeous.

I know, he does such a fantastic job. He has a website too if you just Google his name. :)

Gaaah! I need to get back to the chat one of these days. Would someone please tell work to stop needing my attention?

Dear Work,

It has come to our attention that you have been placing unreasonable demands on Nutmeg's time lately. Yes, we all have needs, but it shouldn't always be about *you*, Work. Please stop requiring Nutmeg to do so much of you. We need her in Chatzy, and you are really cramping her style. Thank you.

Yay! That's awesome. But that means I'll may accidently buy the paperback when my list of books to buy is getting longer and longer. Perhaps I should join the library...
