From Panto-gonia to Patagonia
Jun. 5th, 2007 06:59 pm1) I found out that it was Teleus who arrested Gen, Magus, Sophos, Ambiades, Pol in The Thief
2) I sent MWT an email joking about Nahuseresh being Sophos in disguise. Unfortunately, I forgot to edit it and it ended up quoting/writing this:
"Willow: "Dear Ms. Turner, There is no need to go to the trouble of writing a fourth Attolia book. We have everything figured out. Nahuseresh is Sophos in disguise, Irene is pregnant, and Heiro is going to run off to marry Dite. Also, the magus and Eddis are going to hook up. Sincerely, Sounis
Ah, seriously though, less than a week til paperback KoA! SQUEE! *cannot wait*"
I also forgot to edit out 'Willow'. I am so sorry, Willow. *offers copious amounts of ice cream* I sent MWT a hasty email when I'd realised saying:
ARGH. Um....i should have edited that a little before sending! we are looking forward to a 4th book! Please write one! Very very sorry. And that was also a cracky situation. um...we weren't being serious
Emerald *takes Checkers' idiot icon*
She replied:
(subject line: knit one, purl two.) nope! sorry! too late. You never get another book. you never get to read about the buffed up Sophos now. I've decided to take up knitting. yes emerald, it's all your fault.
So now we know she's read the bit about buffed up Sophos and the threesome. Lovely. I suggested she knit some goat wool underwear for the characters....

In short, I am an IDIOT
EDIT:
Willow made me send this message:
As you may have noticed from the name attached to it, the quote Emerald sent you was, in fact, mine. That being the case, I would like to assume full responsibility for its existence and throw myself on my metaphorical sword, despite its having been confiscated in an attempt to prevent me from doing so. It wasn't Em's fault (or Sounis's), it was mine, and it would really be unfair to deprive them of a 4th book over my actions. If I promise never to read it, will you still write the 4th book?
Sincerely,
Willow Smith
P.S. I would like to state, for the record, that the quote was reverse psychology to encourage you to keep writing, and that the only one I actually believe is that Irene might be pregnant.
And then (you didn't think I'd let you sacrifice yourself, Willow?!)
P.P.S I (Emerald) would like to point out that it WAS her fault and that dear, dear Willow is not going to throw herself on the metaphorical sword of wrath or suchlike because we love her too much for that. The reason I am still sending this email is because Willow threatened if I didn't, she'd send it anyway and would make it more creative too. Please don't deprive sounis though. I promise never to read the 4th book if you only please write it.
I got this reply:
I'm starting on the cutest little sweater. Cableknit. In a mauvish shade of pinky russet
(I don't know what the shade is either, but I asked)
My reply:
Surely someone as awesome as you can knit and write at the same time?
Eddis-as-a-child would look adorable in that sweater. I refuse to believe
you are giving up writing to knit. I guess I am stubborn :)
Em (the idiot) :)
P.S what does a mauvish shade of pinky russet look like? Philia wants to
know too :)

She'll probably forget all about it in a month or so, which shouldn't make a difference in the grand scheme of things since we probably won't get another book for a few more years at the least.
*has it all planned out*
I remember suggesting this place and thinking it would be nice to discuss the books sensibly with other fans. If only I'd known. :) (And I think it's a bit of both)

From:Teleus arrested them all
Date: 6/6/07 05:53 pm (UTC)Which means Teleus knew perfectly well that Gen was both an accomplished swordman and able to convincingly play at being someone other than he really is (he says something about Gen not being what the Magus expected after Gen ambushes the pursuing soldiers).
It probably means that Teleus was there or nearby when Gen's hand is cut off, and he could very well have been one of the escorts that Attolia sends away when she stands outside the cell.
So Teleus knows a whole lot more about a whole lot of things than he lets on in KoA (probably he and Relius have shared what they know). He really must just be waiting for Gen to reveal his motives, Teleus already knows he is brave, competent, wily, willing, and a swordsman.

The Shaltanacs are a race from the planet Broop Kidron Thirteen, who had their own version of the Earth phrase, "The other man's grass is always greener." Although, given their planet's horticultural peculiarities, theirs was, "The other Shaltanac's joopleberry shrub is always a more mauve-y shade of pinky russet," and so, the expression fell into disuse, and the Shaltanacs found they had little choice but to become exceptionally happy and content, which surprised everyone else in the galaxy, who had never realised that the best way not to be unhappy is not to have a word for it.
Still can't completely picture it, though.
