The Fanmade Cover Contest

Inspired by a conversation in the Conspiracy Room, I came up with this contest. All our resident artists, make a cover for one, two, or all of the QT books, and make a link to it in Comments. Even if you're not a resident artist! Even if it's with little stick figures! (please no pervyness, as I'm sure will happen given the nature of the CR chat. PLEASE don't do the bath scene. Please.)

*does not recall that scene in any of the books. CURRENT books.*

I like to be free to visualize or NOT that sort of thing. Am praying not in future books either...

Didn't we tell you? Jade and I are writing outtakes The phrase perplexes me, as it is unhyphenated. Are they the nipples of a giant man or are they the disproportionately giant nipples of a normal-sized man?

... I told my mother about this saga tonight. Her resigned lack of surprise was amusing. :p

maybe you should go back to the original source of the phrase - Capt'n Slappy himself.

See, that sounds hyphenated. It wouldn't make grammatical sense without the hyphen. But without the "Neptune's", it could go either way.

Have you considered commas? GN,M,N!

It's because I missed out the Neptune, yes?

We took a picture of Neptune's Man Nipples in the British Musuem today.

.. just in case.

It's coming, it's coming!

I typed out a whole illustrated story about London last night and then LJ went and died and the draft didn't saved. So, I will do it again.

*shakes fist at LJ*

We will wait with bated breath, a bit nervous about what we might see. I shall cover [livejournal.com profile] thelasteddis 's eyes, if need be. :P

I think they mean Steam Room Scene. The Bath Scene must be in the next book.

At first I was like *bath scene?!* thinking Colin Firth sort of bath scene (well, you are the Reprobates), but then was like, "Oh. THAT bath scene."

Or was I right in the first place?

ANYWHOOO Yaaay a contest led by someone besides me!

The King of Attolia (http://pic80.picturetrail.com/VOL949/3370370/6917756/336446637.jpg)

(And do you observe the Attolian lilies in the background? Of course you do.)

Block prints? That sounds cool to me. I'd love to see it. :D

I vote to write over it with the Calligraphy, after doing the block print.

Any chance you can use gold paint, or ink, for highlights? (Gen: ooooh, shiny)

Hmm. I love calligraphy, and I also love the look of hand carved letters.

Any chance of carved calligraphy? With highlights done later?

I somehow missed out on this the first time around, but DANG, I LOVE it. And the quote you picked--so short, simple, sweet, out of context, and yet perfectly summationative (look I made up a word for you)--if I didn't love the original so much, I would grab this one ASAP.

Ha, ha, thanks!

Many thanks for the made up word, too. :D I'm having a lot of fun finding words that might have gone into it. I'm seeing 'summon' 'summary' 'imagination' and 'superlative' in it so far.
