Happy Hobbit Birthday, MWT!

Dear Megan,

After giving you our best birthday wishes, we thought we'd mix it up a little. In honor of the upcoming debut of The Hobbit movie (no, not that one), we thought we'd celebrate your birthday hobbit-style.

As it says in The Fellowship of the Ring:

[Bilbo] gave away presents to all and sundry--the latter were those who went out again by a back way and came in again by the gate. Hobbits give presents to other people on their birthdays. Not very expensive ones, as a rule, and not so lavishly as on this occasion; but it was not a bad system. Actually in Hobbiton and Bywater every day in the year it was somebody's birthday, so that every hobbit in those parts had a fair chance of at least one present at least once a week. But they never got tired of them.

In this spirit, we'd like to ask for just little things, namely, details we'd like to see in the next book. Nothing huge or spoilery, just fun. So come out, you little furry-footed Sounisians, and make your requests known! And don't worry about sneaking out through the back way--we have a revolving gate. :-)

Assignments Have Been Sent!

Alright everyone, I have now officially sent out everyone's Secret Sounisian assignments! They should now be in everyone's livejournal inboxes. (Except for hazelwillow's, because apparently there's a limit on how many lj messages one can send in a day. Weird. Yours should be in your e-mail.) If anyone has not received their assignment or if there's any sort of problem, please let me know. You can leave a comment here, send me a private message, or e-mail me at alexctownsend@aol.com.

Now it's time to start making gifts! Everyone, simply go back to the post where you all gave your information and said what you wanted for your gift and look to see what your giftee is hoping for! I tried my best to distribute assignments so that everyone received someone that their gift-making skills were compatible with. So hopefully everyone will get a present that they really love!

I'll post a reminder when the time comes, but remember that the official gift-giving period is from December 15th thru December 31st. If something comes up and you can no longer provide a present please tell me AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

When you are ready to deliver your gift just send it to me in an e-mail and I'll forward it for you so everyone can stay anonymous.
