Eddis, Attolia, Sounis

And no, not the country on the little peninsula, US! It's been 17 delightful years since this site was created and, boy, has it been a long-lived and welcoming place.

You all probably already know how I feel about sounis and you all. Such friendly, smart people! Who love the same books!

There are other Queen's Thief places to visit, including MWT's Tumblr and the Geninsula on Discord, but my heart always comes back to you, sounis. And now we have a brand new book to read!

We've made it to the end of our rereading of Return of the Thief. Join us in Conspiracy Room on Sunday Nov. 7 as we discuss Volume Two Chapters 10-14 + Alyta's Missing Earrings. And, of course, all the usual discussion fodder--food, what we're reading, etc. etc.

Oh, and that we just celebrated the 16th Anniversary of this little slice of heaven, sounis.

Our little sounis community is all grown up. 15 years old, can you believe it?? We're old enough to act surly and roll our eyes, tear up our army enrollment papers, and go searching for Hamaithes' Gift.

This community formed just before King of Attolia was published and has remained active pretty steadily over the years. With the publication of the last book in the series, this may be sort of a last hurrah for us, although I think we'll be talking about RotT for quite awhile yet.

As a tribute to sounis, I thought there'd be no better words than what Megan said in the virtual author visit last week. Here's a transcript from the part of her talk that touched on the dedication in RotT.

sounis is 11 years old, and Ornon's sheep are dancing!

Eleven years ago today Queen rowana and the elusive eddis started up this wonderful community, while we were waiting very impatiently for Harper Collins to finish knitting The King of Attolia. So much has happened over the past 11 years. We've grown up and grown older while getting to know other QT fans around the world who love Megan's books and want to share questions, answers, and insanity with others.

Sounis members have come and gone over the years. Some of us have been around since the beginning, and others are brand new. What has never changed is that this online community welcomes everyone. We're the nicest fan community out there!
