As Promised

I finally got the pictures I needed to do this post. From the moment I got this present, a little bit after Christmas, I've been thinking. "Man, the reprobates at Sounis would love this!"

Now at last I have the pictures. Curse my lack of a digital camera! *cough* or a cellphone *cough, cough*

Anyway here it is:

What it is is a box, one of those plane wooden boxes that you can get at craft stores, like Michael's and Hobby Lobby. Anyway, the box itself looks like a book, and opens on a hinge. The coolest thing about it is not that it has the cover of my favorite book of all time on the front, the coolest thing is that my good friend Aubri painted the whole thing freehand!! She did some neat scroll work on the spine and painted my name in gold. I don't have a picture of it, but on the inside she pasted all my favorite quotes on paper painted over with varnish. It's amazing.

If you're keeping score at home you might notice that some of the cool little designs around the title are improvised (you probably can't see them.) Very, very nice.

You can kind of see it a little better as a bok in this one. I really wish I had a picture of the inside. Every open surface is covered in quotes and converstion's. Gen and Attolia's last littl converstion at the end of QoA is right up front when you open it up.

And there is me and my box. I look retarded, but the box is awesome. And it came filled with makeup, which was nice too.

That is so incredibly awesome. I love it.

The gold detail around the title looks like it was difficult. Paint is not easy to get that kind of intricate area done. She did a fantastic job from what I can see.
