Because I've been trying to draw these guys for a while, and I've been failing. Luckily, my friend G, who I just got to read TT, is fantabulous and drew me a picture after she finished it. Thought I'd post it for y'all. :-)

I like it, but I don't know if everyone will get it. It might make it sound like we're only for Japanese stuff... think that's weird?? We want to make sure we get people interested in all sorts of history.

('cause otherwise I'm gonna get left in the DUST, and since I'm the mod I think I get a certain amount of say in the dust-leaving)

You're right about not everyone getting Otaku. Maybe History_Haven: World History from Ancient to Modern...

I typed history into the search engine, and I was surprised there are not that many history comms. Most of them are just interested in particular eras, or are for history college students.

I would like this to be a place where anyone feels welcome even if they aren't versed in historical facts. Lots of people watch the history channel and might like to ask questions of more versed members. We should also encourage cultural discussions.

I agree with everything you said about what the comm should be. This is going to be oodles of fun!!! I really want to start right now... but I have so much to do... DANG IT. Ah well... Don't worry, it will be up and running soon!

No, darling, Rubles are from Russia. Zelda stole them. It's a long story... basically the younger kids put on a version of some of some short plays, narrated by the playwrite. The playwrite was given a sort of sad, hopeless outlook on his position as an artistic leader, and every now and then he'd change the sadder endings to, "and then he won five million rubles!"

I like History_Haven a lot... We should wait to do much member-recruiting until it's actually up... we'll keep a lot more that way. :-)
