As we all know, it's less than a week until The Official Conspiracy of Socks Week (Feb 12 -- 19), when those inclined shall wear mismatched socks to show their support of Sockish Independence and Liberation. AND spread a little Gen-love, hopefully!

I have, much later than I would have liked (Ah! Cursed un-procrastinating-ness that keeps me away from Sounis!) compiled directions for making an OFFICIAL CONSPIRACY OF SOCKS WEEK PIN!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is the pin design. Sorry that they look like two left feet.

How to make your Very Own CoS Pin:
1. Print out my loverly (not!) drawing somehow -- by pasting it onto a document, saving it as a picture, whatever.

2. Cut out the circular design and glue it to a piece of cardboard.

3. Cut off the extra cardboard around the design ... now your pin is sturdy!

4. Use tape or glue to secure a safety pin to the back of it.

Of course, a fibula pin would be ideal.

5. To make it glossy and partly waterproof, you can paint the front of the pin with acrylic medium or glue, but this isn't necessary.

HOORAY! NOW YOU HAVE AN OFFICIAL CONSPIRACY OF SOCKS WEEK PIN!!!!! LIBERATION COMETH!

6. Wear it wherever you go.

Besides wearing mismatched socks and a pin, here are some other ideas for A CoS various illustrious people have had:
> Sock-shaped cookies, each decorated differently
> Cards promoting the series that can be handed (!) out when people say "WTF? What is a conspiracy of socks?!?"
These could possibly say "Eugenides for king President: because socks want to be free!"
or "For more Sounisian fashion, check out the Queen's Thief series, by Megan Whalen Turner, beginning with The Thief!"
>
Everyone posts pictures of the socks they set free, or whatever they did to celebrate the occasion

YAAAAAAAAY!
(ps: After tomorrow, I'm not going be able to access the internet for about a week, but if someone wants to do a day-before/reminder post, that would be awesome.)
Go forth and free the socks, all ye!

Nice pin. I have awesome socks, mismatched or otherwise so I approve of this randomness.

Ooh, nice pin ;) I'm not a baker, but I wonder if they sell sock-shaped cookie anywhere? Maybe stockings (like for holiday cookies or something)? I am going to try to find some of those and hand them out on my floor.
