Writing Group

I suggested this a few days ago on athanarel, where it met with a pretty good response, so I thought I'd try it here.

Would anyone be interested in taking part in a group for young writers, whether on LJ or Yahoo? What I have in mind is more of a feedback group than a critique group, where you can get an unbiased second look at your work from sympathetic writers who know what it's like to be dealing with school and work and family and scenes that have to be rewritten seven times, as well as a place to talk about writing in general.

And, if you're interested, would you prefer LJ or Yahoo?

willow_41z, I am ashamed to admit that I cannot write creatively AT ALL. However, I would be willing to read others' writing and give gentle feedback. I don't know much about writing conventions, but I know what I like and don't like. :) Perhaps I would not be much help.

Sounds like a fun idea to me - I'd join. I just wouldn't post anything I'm writing, because I'm ridiculously paranoid. :P

Oh, and I'd personally prefer LJ.

For my part, I do think it's a great idea. But like everyone else, I'm far too paranoid to post anything I write (when I do, rarely, write).

:) I'll spread the word of a possible group to some regular writers whom I do know, however, and ask what they think. Would the group be open to fanfiction as well as original work?

Sure, I guess, though I anticipate difficulties there if we don't all know the source material. But they'd be welcome to post it, at least.
