I give thanks for this community. :)

Where else could I find a community of fans who intelligently discuss a series, delving into hidden meanings and character analyses, with awesome comics and other goodies thrown in along the way? I mean, most other communities are heavy on the fan but light on the intelligence. (Edward! No, Jacob! No, Edward!... Sigh.)

I usually lurk, but I hope all you posters know that I read nearly each and every one of your snarky, smart, and scrumptious comments each week.

Best,
A Fan of the Fans.

That article speaks the truth...honestly, especially in fandoms of large sizes. Twilight is the perfect example...as well as some anime fandoms in which all you get for your work is a comment full of squeeing (not that there's anything too wrong with that).

I think a lot of fandom is meant to be collective squeeing, unless the canon work holds up to closer scrutiny. And the internet was never really a "let's analyze Faulkner" sort of place.

Although I must say that now that there are rumors of a Great Gatsby remake, I'm finding the most intelligent posts on The Great Gatsby in the most random places!

It's why I love this comm - you have outrageous/hilarious and intelligent side by side for whatever mood you're in.

It's what makes this fandom really great...I mean, squeeing is found in abundance here as well but I see us as a very talented, intelligent and sensible (this adjective can be subjected to many definitions). The thing we fandom over in itself makes more sense than other fandoms all in all...and we're all insanely creative enough to attach just the right amount of craziness to canon. I hope I'm still making sense... :))

Yep, you are :) and I completely agree. I hate to say that I judge people by what they read, because it makes me sound like a total book snob, but someone that likes, say Twilight, vs someone who likes MWT? I'm probably going to find it easier to talk to (or even respect) the MWT fan. (Whatever that says about me. *shrug* I like the smart people and smart conversation here.)

I guess it just goes to show that you can learn a lot about a person from their book choices. To be fair, it is harder to find an MWT fan because, unlike Twilight, the QT series hasn't become a fad. And it's actually nicer that way since you know which people actually like the book and who just say they like the book because of its popularity.

In short, being an MWT fan is awesome. Sorry for taking the topic and making it so much longer :| :))

...sensible (this adjective can be subjected to many definitions).

Who? Me? Ridiculous in behavior? Never.

Well I wasn't implying anything at all, thank you...perhaps you're paranoid for a reason, Lady Jane...

I have no idea what you are talking about. I bounce back and forth on those rubber walls because it's fun. NOT because I'm crazy. Ugh, now I sound like Parker.
