but I thought it was relevant. I saw it in another comm and just wanted to share.

In order to make this an actual post with a point, we could turn it into a flash fic party post. Whaddya say?

Comment with a prompt and one or more people can write quick, drabble fics in reply. Sound fun?

I have no creative thoughts. But that is SO CUTE. And also relevant. Do you know who/what it came from?

FlashFic Response: Sewing lessons

Eddis stared in dismay bordering on horror as her impish little cousin deftly tugged his needle and fine thread through the bright yellow silk. He had planted his feet on his chair, and his sewing rested between his scabbed and knobby knees, but his stitches were nearly invisible. The princess looked down at her own mess of attempted stitchery and employed one of those new words her mother kept swatting her brothers for using. Eugenides looked up at her, his eyes almost level with his knees and gleaming with triumph. He cackled.

Much time seemed to pass before he left Attolia and moved into the palace in Sounis's capital, but when he arrived he was greeted by an unpleasant surprise. “I’m sorry,” said the master of ceremonies, “but it’s traditional.” Sophos tried not to think about how the pink porcelain of the gold-rimmed teacup was exactly the color he was most likely blushing as the royal portrait maker painted him on a large canvas that would soon hang in a gilt frame in the hall of all the portraits of the former Kings of Sounis holding the delicate cup that he now clutched in his hand. “I should hire Gen to steal it,” he thought. It had daisies and *kittens* on it.

The Magus was beginning to enjoy his Engenides-created holiday. He FINALLY had time to work on the Herbal that he was meaning to compile. "Mildly Toxic Plants of the Three Kingdoms", he planned to call it. "Boy!" He yelled at the guard who was carying his many baskets of samples, "I found it!" It was the common lesser false gimpweed, rather delicious in a salad and almost harmless in it's side effect of producing horrible flatulence.
...
Why does the queen hate me so, wondered the guard as set set down the the wicker baskets of weeds the Magus collected on the counter. I would rather die in an Attolian raid than trudge after this old fool. Sighing, he exited the kitchen...
