Attoliamore?
Aug. 20th, 2011 10:45 amHave you heard of Pottermore? Check out this preview from Publisher's Weekly:
"Pottermore is an elaborate virtual tapestry seamlessly streaming
published text, new writings by J.K. Rowling, animated images, and
social networking elements, including Facebook links."
I want Attoliamore.
3D-images! Backstories about people and places! Interactive roleplaying! Collecting hidden treasures! I want all this about GEN.
I've been imagining what Attoliamore would look like. A girl can dream, right? What would you most like to see in Attoliamore? Whose backstory? What places would you like to visit? What scenes should be reenacted?

Date: 8/20/11 11:31 pm (UTC)I wouldn't want images, because I like the ones in my head already. Unless they were more vague-but-evocative images of Greece. Like the ones Megan showed in a slideshow one time...
And in-between scenes. Like the one between Gen and Dite in the garden.
Actually, what would be MOST AWESOME would be to have scenes you can only unlock after you've finished the book. That way we could see things that are hidden the first time around in order to be not spoilery. Like Gen spying on Attolia before QoA starts, and what he's actually feeling about her at various points. But only once finished the book.
Alas, I know our dear author would probably never agree to such a thing... and I can't help but admire her for it. Even as I wish.
As for Pottermore, I managed to get a beta spot, so I'm waiting very "patiently" for an email... no sign of it yet... ;)

AND YES I WANT ONE FOR QUEEN'S THIEF!!!!!!!
I just have to second what everyone else has said.
Oh, but may I add, I want a little section where Gen reveals his thieving tricks. Like... how to pick a lock or something, that'll be interesting. Or a lesson in rock-climbing.
Or Gen and Attolia playing matchmakers for their attendants, mwahaha.
I'd like to visit FERRIA!!!! The way MWT described it in KoA, it seems like heaven.

Date: 8/21/11 04:39 am (UTC)I'm meh about Pottermore but I do love all the extra bits about Draco's wand.
Attoliamore...I def. want more stories about Gen's childhood, Gen's cousins, and even Gen's grandfather!
And I want to know if post-KoA, Costis found a not-so-sekkrit Gen appreciation society ;-)

Date: 8/21/11 10:15 pm (UTC)An Attolia version, or maybe a wiki like Sherwood Smith's (http://s-d.newsboyhat.co.uk/) would be amazing! Especially if there are links to sites about ancient Greek culture or history and the Persians-I-mean-Medes! or books like Tom Holland's Persian Fire (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Persian-Fire-First-Empire-Battle/dp/0349117179/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1313964806&sr=1-1/) which is an ace book on the Persian War.

Date: 8/22/11 12:21 am (UTC)(Of course!) slush pile stories like what really happened on the wedding night, and in the garden with Dite. (We know these exist already, so that part would be easy. Um, maybe.)
You could find clues to learn those pesky names we don't know.
Oh! Sword fighting with Gen, Costis, all the guards, Boagus, Procivitus and Melheret.
Definitely getting lost in the maze from Thief.
Trying to sneak out of the palace at night, and into town to go to the tavern. Flip a coin to Aris!
Something with the gods and goddesses.
Oh my. This could be really, really fun.
