found an interestingish pdf. maybe you've seen it before...i thought the questions were quite thought provoking(?).
here's the link

btw, i think my greatest dream would be to study the Queen's Thief series for lit =)

lemme see what else i want to say...oh the hair thing. what do you think are the prevailing hair trends in Attolia/Eddis/Sounis? i only sort of figured out beards. Medes apparently have a penchant for dying their beard red and dividing them in two. hmm. and i think, like most ancient societies (and even a few centuries ago), people valued(?) beards. i faintly remember someone in the book commenting on Gen's age by saying he hadn't even got a beard. so, you tell a person's age by whether they have a beard? beards i think were often seen as a sign of maturity. so my theory is beards are popular. and if you don't have a beard, even if you're pretty 'old', you'll be kind of despised?

then hair. Attolia has long hair, and her attendants braid it before she goes to bed (did i remember correctly?). so is it common practice in Attolia to braid your hair before going to bed? i think it's a bit odd, cause then how do you get to sleep with that braid sticking beneath your neck? and Eddis has short curly hair, and she's not considered beautiful. so long hair would be the idea of feminine beauty. kind of like today, isn't it? despite what people say, guys still go after girls with long hair.

was drifting. now guy hair. Gen had long hair in Thief, so again, like roman/greek civilisations, guys in the region had long hair. actually i don't remember a period of long ago history where guys didn't have long hair. or long hair was the norm at least. anyway, conclusion: idea of feminine beauty was to have long hair, guys too had long hair. not very much is it? somebody supply me with info, please? i'm really very curious. and next time i get the chance, i'm going to jump on clothes.

i'm going to use posts economically. so it's going to be rather long. reading QT actually has a bad effect on my writing. my stories start to sound like it, and though someone said imitation was a form of flattery, i still want my plot things to be original. some e.g.s. don't scream.
this girl causes this guy to have his legs broken. and that guy has nightmares. and he's scared of her. and they love each other. the only difference is no one hears his screams cause he stuffs a hanky in his mouth. scary or not?

and i think Agape is meant to distract readers. she seems to be Gen's most likely love interest in QoA. i never even thought that Gen might love Attolia. well actually, i wasn't even expecting a romance, but still...btw, Agape is a really nice name. it means 'love' in greek i think. phileo also means love, but it's more 'like' and is earthly or something. while agape means true love, not romantic love but the sort of love God has. the eternal perfect love sort. that's a very nice name for anybody to have. does anybody pronounce it as a-gayp? *giggles* i pronounce it as ah-gah-pay. when any one says a-gayp, i tend to get giggly cause i see Agape with her mouth wide open and looking extremely horrified. *giggles again*

sighs. needs to sleep now or i won't be able to wake up tmr. school day. booo...

"Get your trash off my desk. I want to use it."     i should tell myself that. my table, to put it politely, is overcrowded.
<3 that line.

A weakness for a preening man in a cape? No, Ornon is the one for me. :)

Thanks for reminding us-- do we have to set Ornon up with someone, Frightful Four? How about Phresine or Eddis's uncle? Or Xanthe?

No, no, no. I don't think Ornon is that old.

Wait, Ornon and the Minister of War???

Sigh.

Eddis's aunt. The Grand Duchess.

Too young for Phresine, then, but how old is Xanthe?

Xanthe or the Dutchess sound perfect for Ornon. But you SAID uncle. :)

*ponders*

Yes, but I didn't mean uncle.

*shakes head* My young padawan, how many times much I tell you to--

OMG CHECKERS MAY I SNAG YOUR ICON WITH CREDIT??

--you have to be more careful when you choose your words!

Anyway...I think Xanthe would be better than Duchess, buuuut...I don't think I really like either of those. I'll think on it.

(Relius for the win!...have we hooked HIM up with anyone?)

Xanthe and Ornon seem like they'd be sort of like Alys and Illyan from the Vorkosiverse. Not exactly, of course, but similar.

... OK, done proofreading this now.

I agree. Both very clever, authoritative couples.
