Date: 11/9/11 11:11 am (UTC)Though I expect Costis's head may object to being faded out of existence. :)

Date: 11/9/11 11:33 am (UTC)Ha, I was wondering whether someone would comment on Costis. His dashingly attractive good looks would have distracted everyone from Gen and Attolia ;P
I'm just channelling some Gen-like vindictiveness.
I still love you, Costis ♥

Date: 11/9/11 02:00 pm (UTC)Do you mind my asking how you did it? Did you draw the outline and color it digitally somehow? And what program did you use? I use GIMP, and it never does anything I want, and my artwork has a very cartoon-y feel to it when I'm done - which this definitely does not have! The picture on my icon is one of my fanarts that I drew and colored in GIMP, so you can see what I usually come up with. I'd really appreciate some advice...:)
Once again, great job!!

Date: 11/9/11 02:05 pm (UTC)This was completely digital. I have a Wacom graphics tablet too, which makes things so much easier.
I have all of the progress files still. I could put together a step by step thingy if that's good?
The program is Photoshop CS5. CS5 is the latest version, but I used 7 for years and it was great. You could see if there's a trial for download if you wanted to try it. I've never used GIMP... But if it's anything like Paint, I feel your pain.

Date: 11/9/11 02:47 pm (UTC)GIMP is a free version of Photoshop that is *supposedly* just as good...hmmmm. What does a tablet do?
Oh, and yes, Paint is USELESS, I tried that too!

Like it says, if anyone wants more detailed information, just ask.

Date: 11/10/11 01:56 pm (UTC)Just one question... did you do all the coloring and shading on the same layer or did you add a new layer for each adjustment?
Thanks again!

Date: 11/10/11 02:07 pm (UTC)You can do so many things with them. Definitely experiment!

Date: 11/9/11 09:45 pm (UTC)I worked with Photoshop in highschool and I do find GIMP just as good. Or maybe I'm just not as advanced of an artist to know the difference. Hehe ^__^
When did you start using it?

Date: 11/10/11 05:24 am (UTC)I started using Photoshop...erm...2006? 5 years ago o_O Wow.

Date: 11/10/11 06:38 pm (UTC)Wow that's a long time. *_*

Date: 11/10/11 01:45 pm (UTC)Nope, it's definitely no that! I not very experienced with GIMP, I only downloaded it maybe three months ago, and I've never used Photoshop, so it probably doesn't do what I want because I don't know how to use it. In all fairness, I should probably say that I made this icon completely from scratch in GIMP, so it does do some pretty neat things if you know how to do them.
P.S. If I have any GIMP questions, can I ask you? I'm pretty confused by alot of the features....

Date: 11/10/11 06:45 pm (UTC)I found GIMP quite difficult to get used to as well, but once you've used it enough, it gets pretty satisfactory. Yeah, the icon is actually very nice! ^^
Ah sure, but I only really use the brush and pen tool. But I'll try ^__^.

(Am a little embarrassed that I first thought this was the dance scene... oh, well. I saw the error of my assessment when I realized there was blood on his hand!)
