After rereading this scene again, and being inspired by rushstarfire's amazing comic, I had to do it...

Thoughts?

Beautiful. Love the use of color, and the composition.

Though I expect Costis's head may object to being faded out of existence. :)

You did an amazing job on this! It is so detailed and the composition is very striking :D

Do you mind my asking how you did it? Did you draw the outline and color it digitally somehow? And what program did you use? I use GIMP, and it never does anything I want, and my artwork has a very cartoon-y feel to it when I'm done - which this definitely does not have! The picture on my icon is one of my fanarts that I drew and colored in GIMP, so you can see what I usually come up with. I'd really appreciate some advice...:)

Once again, great job!!

That's very kind of you!

GIMP is a free version of Photoshop that is *supposedly* just as good...hmmmm. What does a tablet do?

Oh, and yes, Paint is USELESS, I tried that too!

Wow, Thank you soo much!! As I read throught the tutorial and looked at the in-progress pictures, I found myself saying "Isn't it finished now? It looks amazing....WHat more could she possibly do!"

Just one question... did you do all the coloring and shading on the same layer or did you add a new layer for each adjustment?

Thanks again!

Oh, I see - That's alot of layers! Actually, layers scare me.....I guess I just need to experiment with them more :)

I use GIMP too actually, and I love it. Hmm.... but I almost always use it alongside Painter. I don't know if this is the same Paint you're talking about. though.

I worked with Photoshop in highschool and I do find GIMP just as good. Or maybe I'm just not as advanced of an artist to know the difference. Hehe ^__^

When did you start using it?

^__^ Okay, thanks for letting me know. I must warn you though, GIMP at first is not very intuitive. It takes a lot longer to get used to it, especially if you're a Photoshop user. But once you're used to it, it's a very good alternative to Photoshop. ^^ At least I think so, hehe.

Wow that's a long time. *_*

Nope, it's definitely no that! I not very experienced with GIMP, I only downloaded it maybe three months ago, and I've never used Photoshop, so it probably doesn't do what I want because I don't know how to use it. In all fairness, I should probably say that I made this icon completely from scratch in GIMP, so it does do some pretty neat things if you know how to do them.

P.S. If I have any GIMP questions, can I ask you? I'm pretty confused by alot of the features....

Lol, actually I don't think I've explored enough of Photoshop before switching over to GIMP, so I really can't say how much more superior it is. =P

I found GIMP quite difficult to get used to as well, but once you've used it enough, it gets pretty satisfactory. Yeah, the icon is actually very nice! ^^

Ah sure, but I only really use the brush and pen tool. But I'll try ^__^.

I third the request for a step by step.

Because otherwise, this comment would be all flail and SQUEEEE!

(Am a little embarrassed that I first thought this was the dance scene... oh, well. I saw the error of my assessment when I realized there was blood on his hand!)

Just popping in to say, GIMP is an *excellent* free alternative to Photoshop. It has layers, levels, filters, and almost any other feature that makes Photoshop awesome. I've been using it for a long time, and I've never run into something I couldn't do. Sorry for the interruption; I just didn't want to let open source software go undefended. ;)

I hope this does not sound bad but I like how she appears slightly awkward. She was not, right at the beginning, expecting his ardor and I would imagine there was some awkwardness in positioning. Perhaps this was not your intent and I'm simply reading it into the scene due to my own interpretation but I quite like it and I hope it's not offensive to include awkward as a descriptor. Thanks for sharing it!
