Happy Hobbit Birthday, MWT!

Dear Megan,

After giving you our best birthday wishes, we thought we'd mix it up a little. In honor of the upcoming debut of The Hobbit movie (no, not that one), we thought we'd celebrate your birthday hobbit-style.

As it says in The Fellowship of the Ring:
[Bilbo] gave away presents to all and sundry--the latter were those who went out again by a back way and came in again by the gate. Hobbits give presents to other people on their birthdays. Not very expensive ones, as a rule, and not so lavishly as on this occasion; but it was not a bad system. Actually in Hobbiton and Bywater every day in the year it was somebody's birthday, so that every hobbit in those parts had a fair chance of at least one present at least once a week. But they never got tired of them.

In this spirit, we'd like to ask for just little things, namely, details we'd like to see in the next book. Nothing huge or spoilery, just fun. So come out, you little furry-footed Sounisians, and make your requests known! And don't worry about sneaking out through the back way--we have a revolving gate. :-)

After all, it's her birthday, my loves, and we wants it.

Hahahahahaha.

Ahaha, aren't you the tricky one, Jade!! Well, I want to know if we'll ever get to see and little Gens and Irenes running around - I'd even take little Helens and Sophoses!

Happy Birthday, Megan!

Jade, this is the most brilliant (and hilarious) idea for a post ever.

Personally, I would like to see Gen and an Oliphaunt. ;)

I'd just like to know who the narrator will be.

Also, I love seeing Gen interact with his father and cousins. More family bonding, please!

Happy birthday, MWT!

I want to see.... *drumrolls please*

More boys' nights out. =P

Kidding!

Or maybe not.

Okay, don't mean to sound like a broken record here (since I've said this a couple of times before) but I really want to see Attolia/MoW bonding scene. Or at least being friendly with each other. Talking about how Gen's a pain in the neck.

ELEPHANTS.

And hopefully I get my wish.

Also, Gen in good health. *frets*

Sophos' sisters, please! Preferably them meeting Costis. Or maybe one of them meeting Costis and then falling in luuuv.

Ooh. OOOOH. I like the way you think.

I like the way you think, too.

Poor, poor Costis!!!

My first thought was "more women" so I am adding another vote for this one. :)

I want Gen to pick someone's pocket. And I want to see it.

Preferably, the Mede ambassador's.

Well...

I've already said that I want Oliphaunts. And so has everybody else, so....

The Magus got a bath in the last one, so maybe NAHUSERFISH will get a SHAVE in the next one!

Happy birthday! Many happy returns! (a saying I've never quite puzzled out but is a very Pooh-Bear thing to say, so I'm saying it.)

IRENE. Irene-and-Gen. Delicious and snarky and oh-so-romantic-and-terrifying.

It's hard to survive on just a few crumbs when each of those crumbs hints at the banquet unseen!!!!!

Saying "Many happy returns of the day" used to puzzle me too, but I eventually figured out that it is something like saying "May your birthday return many times" or "May you have many more happy birthdays."

Happy Birthday !

What I want to see is in the next book is more family bonding, more Sophos/Gen moments...and Sophos and Costis.

More Gen and Eddis moments :)

More Gen/Attolia <3

When the next book will be out.

I'm certain this is the type of post that terrifies MWT the most. AUTHOR INCEPTION.

I'd like to see Costis again. There was a Costis-shaped hole in my heart after reading ACoK. (I know, I know... before that we were like, "WE WANT TO SEE SOPHOS, SO GIMME GIMME!" Please try to keep up with our demands.)

And I'm really consumed with the idea of someone stealing something from Gen. I'm not sure why. Or how exactly. I just love it when the tables are turned.

Oh, wow. Now THAT is a spectacular idea.

What kind of thing could be stolen?

(Now I'm trying to think if it's happened. He's lost things, but nothing Stolen, per se).

I love it.

[identity profile] deirdrej.livejournal.com 2012-11-27 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
But wait! Didn't Irene steal his heart? ;-D (Well, yes, I know he lost it. But he could've just dropped it somewhere, right? But SHE took it! Without even knowing how much she wanted it. Now THERE's a thief for you ;-D)

As for others stealing other things from Gen, methinks that is a job for the next "Gen"eration. Those baby Gens and Irenes could do it pat.

[identity profile] hazelwillow.livejournal.com 2012-11-28 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
She did... unintentionally. ;)

I was thinking more about the hand. o.O I don't know if he would consider it stolen, though. He seems to think it was his fault, although I think it was the gods' fault. In either case, you can consider it either lost or stolen. It certainly wasn't taken with his consent, so there's an argument for the latter. On the other hand, it was taken with his knowledge. So I don't know if that would count as stealing.

I don't want to think about that too much :( so I'll go back to hoping for a less devastating, and more clear-cut, thievery from him. :D

[identity profile] checkers65477.livejournal.com 2012-12-02 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, we are totally not into fan service, are we? :)

[identity profile] aged-crone.livejournal.com 2012-11-30 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Not that I think it's going to be in the next book, or should be; but based on what I've been reading lately, I would be vastly amused to see Gen, and Lymond, and Miles Vorkosigan, and the Duke of Avon plotting, either against each other or with the same goal.

[identity profile] rosaleeluann.livejournal.com 2012-12-12 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
Don't forget Sir Percy. Lord Peter could come along as well. May as well let the Doctor come along too. ;-)
