You'll all have to chime in on this one because I have fewer examples.

The rules I play by (you don't have to): No proper names. No spoilers.
I think the perfect synecdoche in this game is an multi-layered inside joke to those of us who have read the series, but a serviceable (and spoiler-free!) summary for anyone who hasn't.

To get us started:

- Thinking of the river, he had no warning when a shadow appeared directly in front of him and he ran face first into a wall. (pg. 11)

- In the end, he prayed for help, any help, and left if for the god to decide what was best. (pg. 27)

- "What have you done?"
"Not much yet," answered the Thief from the darkness. (pg. 103)

I know some of you consider QoA your favorite, so I look forward to hearing your picks!

I'm sorry I don't have page numbers, and some of these are a stretch (and some are just for giggles):

"If there is one thing a woman understands, it is the nature of gifts."

“Everybody is always willing to throw someone else's country to the dogs.”

"He was famous in three countries for his lies."

"What earrings?”

And my personal favorite:

"You have your answer, Little Thief."

The "little thief" line always makes me want to cry buckets for Gen. Possibly because it reminds me of a line from C. S. Lewis's Till We Have Faces... another book that tends to make me emotional.

Aah, the feels! (There's some fan art that I love of Eugenides during that scene, that my friend printed out for me, years ago... And now I can't find the source or remember the artist, alas. But I still have the picture. Perhaps Sounis could help me track it down again if I shared it?)

And yes, my username originates from The Horse and His Boy. Good old Bree.
