QoA Synecdoche
Apr. 26th, 2017 08:02 pmYou'll all have to chime in on this one because I have fewer examples.
The rules I play by (you don't have to): No proper names. No spoilers.
I think the perfect synecdoche in this game is an multi-layered inside joke to those of us who have read the series, but a serviceable (and spoiler-free!) summary for anyone who hasn't.
To get us started:
- Thinking of the river, he had no warning when a shadow appeared directly in front of him and he ran face first into a wall. (pg. 11)
- In the end, he prayed for help, any help, and left if for the god to decide what was best. (pg. 27)
- "What have you done?"
"Not much yet," answered the Thief from the darkness. (pg. 103)
I know some of you consider QoA your favorite, so I look forward to hearing your picks!

“Everybody is always willing to throw someone else's country to the dogs.”
"He was famous in three countries for his lies."
"What earrings?”
And my personal favorite:
"You have your answer, Little Thief."
