A very minor detail I was wondering about - spoilers below!

Eugenides sends Kamet a copy of a scroll of Enoclitus after his escape from Attolia. The name tickles my memory, but a brief skim through QoA didn't turn up a reference to that scroll. Does anyone remember (or have digital copies they can search) if we've actually seen Gen re-copying the scroll of Enoclitus before?

Because if so, frankly, I am just awestruck.

Kindle edition doesn't turn up anything for Enoclitus. However, in chapter 5, it does describe "the scroll he'd been recopying before he'd gone to Attolia," which is apparently a "reliable copies of Thales's original thoughts on the basic elements of the universe." It then says he practices his writing every day, so I'm guessing it's likely during that period.

I did a ton of word searches to see if it ever mentions him copying that scroll, but the only specific texts mentioned are scientific ones. I got the impression that Gen was there as the Boot Boy for awhile and couldn't copy the scroll till he went back to Eddis, thus the one he was copying before he left appears irrelevant.

That does explain some of his fixation on getting his hand-writing up to par. Like he didn't want to focus on his hand or lack thereof, so he tried to focus on copying the scroll for Kamet? Although, there was also the university angle.

Was the coin Gen was playing with in KoA Kamet's coin? Did he go back for it after he threw it away? I can't decide...

So the author of the epigraph is fictional? Shame, it's a good one.
