Another MWT Interview
Jun. 12th, 2017 09:47 pmHere's another great interview with Megan, where she talks about writing "twists" into books, fantasy world-building, and about Gen as a character.
Favorite parts:
"The Thief is about 21 years old now, so it's just about old enough to buy a drink."
Calling her books "Fellowship of the Hamiathes Gift."
Oh, and it's official, Gen is a jerk. She's called him that at least twice now, so there you go.

It somehow hadn't quite clicked for me that the third person TaT draft was in the same kind of third person as its "first half" -- and It's been interesting to me to take scenes from TaT and think about how Costis would have experienced them, but I'm able to do that because he has his own story, because I've read it. I'm glad that Kamet's is now the one we get. It's new, in the overall story, and better for it. :)

Honey-badger don't care!" But based on what we know of Costis in KoA, his thoughts were probably more along the lines of, "Oh gods, oh gods... what did I get myself into this time? GO TO THE MEDES, Eugenides said! IT'LL BE FUN, he said! Ten newly tinned pots on the alter of whichever deity will get me through this!"

Date: 6/13/17 06:40 am (UTC)"That there was an entire fantasy world as opposed to like, three nations in a void surrounded by nothingness..."
These three countries in the books are part of a bigger world. I really like that. It reminds me of " noone is an island."
