300
Who has seen 300!? All the guys at my high school are obsessed with it leaving all the girls in their usual speculation, not really getting it. Just like Star Wars.
It was nice to see some more good 'ol Greek culture at the movies (Yes, I know Gen lives in a 'Byzantine world, but deep down, we all know its Greek at heart tehehehe.)
I'm actually not sure how many other guys lurk or contribute to this community...who else liked 300? I thought it was pretty inspiring.

But anyway, yeah. Um? The actor who played the captain's son (Not getting into details about what happens to him, to avoid spoilerificness) should be roped into playing Ambiades. Or, actually, possibly even Costis. But not Gen. He's far too tall for that... :P
I'll stop randoming now.

Girls don't get Star Wars? That's news to me.

One of the Fabulous ones described it as "Man: The Movie." I intend to see it eventually, because it is droolingly beautiful and there are quips about war and death! Sometimes you just need a good epic with roaring and killing and bare-chested, rage-filled men. Sometimes you just need that.

So true!
I love your emu icon! And it reminds me of the Disapproving Bunny pictures (which would probably make a good series of icons as well).

And I mean, it IS a movie about the battle of Thermopylae; there's going to be a LITTLE violence.

Nice
As far as accuracy, several historical scholars saw the movie and were surprised at how accurate it was.
Sometimes a movie doesn't have to be deep or anything; Warner Bros. stated that 300 was made purely to entertain, not give any political or cultural message.
But still, it gave a great lesson; to try your hardest against the most overwhelming of odds.
And yes, every frame was digital beauty! Leonidas was pretty hardcore as well.
"This is Sparta!"

I had totally forgotten about that. It was a little traumatizing...

Gee
Personally, 90% of the girls at my school haven't seen any of them.
I'm sure a good portion of the Star Wars community is female (23%?)
I was reflecting the way they portray it on tv, with women out of tune when guys start ranting over Star Wars.
I was especially thinking of an episode of "What I Like About You" with plannings of a Star Wars themed wedding in progress.
Hahaha that Amanda Bynes...
Re: Gee
Of course, you mention being in school, and so I will concede that if these girls did not grow up on the original trilogy, I honestly can't blame them for not giving a damn about the prequels. Even for a die-hard, they were embarassing. (Note to Holywood: DON'T LET LUCAS WRITE SCRIPTS. EVER.)
Cheers!
Re: Gee
*agrees wholeheartedly* Oh goddess yes. That is TOO TRUE.
Re: Gee
I maintain that the Anakin/Padme dialog about love and beauty and all that crap is one of the most sickening things ever written. Love makes me blind and therefore you're beautiful because I can't see you? What the hell, Lucas. What the hell.
