Here goes:

1) I raise one eyebrow, only one, because it irritates Bookworm! ;D
2)Yup.
3)Only if I think reeeaaally hard about it.... so, let's just say no.
4)I couldn't juggle to save my life - especially not wine glasses....better to stay away from the breakable stuff!
5)I can stand on one foot....Does that count?!
6)Nope, but neither can Irene, so I'm in good company!
7)I know someone who could prbably teach me if I asked.....

This was fun, Bookworm, did I pass??

Whoa, I get to hang out with Gen and Costis and the guards because I failed?!! I wonder what I would have gotten if I had passed.....

1) I can only raise both eyebrows, but I like to pretend that I can lift one.
2) When it comes to hair tucking I'm ambidextrous. Left behind right, right behind left, left behind left...what ever. Depends on which hand is free.
3) No. But I do use a computer mouse and scissors with my non-dominate hand.
4) No. Scarves do belly flops when I throw them in the air with the aim of catching them.
5) No handstands...no headstands, either.
6) Gasp splash...gasp splash...gasp drown...nope.
7) No, but I can fit my dinning room table into a small car trunk.

So, what's my score?

1. I can raise one eyebrow, but only the left one unless I have a mirror.
2. Yes
3. No but that doesn't stop me from trying.
4. No.
5. With much practice over the summer I can now do a two handed handstand 3 out of 5 times.
6. Yes.
7. Never had to,but theoretically yes.

1) I can raise one eye brow. Either one. Hehehe, though the right one is easier to raise high. Whether I do it subconsciously or not, erm, I don't think so.
2) I can do left hand and right ear, but strangely I don't do right hand and left ear. o__o
3) Nooooooo!!!! I wish I could.
4) Uhm, I can juggle homework and facebook. XD
5) Noe, one other thing I wish I could.
6) Nope. = (
7) No. I've broken two desks though. But those don't count, because the tables weren't fighting back.

Heehee, this was fun. =D

1. One. Either. Or lower either. Or raise either and lower the other. And play seesaw with them. Very useful for entertaining small children on buses and trains.
2. Yes.
3. Badly, but legibly. I can also write upside-down. I read upside-down and mirror much better than I write them.
4. No
5. neither
6. no way
7. nix

1) One, and all the time. I find myself doing it when reading. Probably looks weird to observers.

2) Yep! either or. (I have a much harder time brushing my hair with my left, though, than with my right.)

3) Yes, with effort. Ditto the above with upside-down and mirror. I can also write chinese with my left hand - again, badly but legibly.

4) I can juggle two objects until I drop them. So .... no :D

5) Two, yes. One, nope.

6) Yep! I backstroke like a champ!

7) No, but I've got a brother...

1. No way, even though I've tried Tiegirl's method of holding one down in the mirror...
2. Yes!
3. Very, very, shakily. I tried improving it a lot about two years ago, but then I gave it up for writing backwards.
4. No.
5. No...
6. Haha ... probably not quite as well, but maybe Sophos was being overly defensive. :)
7. No, my education is definitely missing something.

Seriously, you guys, this works! *is earnest* It's just muscles, and you're just training them. You hold one eyebrow, and raise the other, multiple times. Do it over and over, while you're reading, or listening to lectures, or whatever. Soon, you'll be doing like Gen or Irene, or a, a... a librarian! My mother used to raise her eyebrow naturally all the time and it drove me nuts that I couldn't do it, so I trained mine and now I can do it. I do it subconsciously now while I read and it gets me in trouble at departmental meetings (it used to, anyway..."Kristin, do you have something to say?").

Anyway, I used to be able to juggle, but I'm out of practice and I was never very good. I used to be able to do handstands on two hands but I was never very good, and only with two hands. Table defense is just...something I never tried.

Tucking hair with my opposite hand I could do but now it's too short.

I'm a champ at swimming. I took every swimming course known to man. I know obscure things like the weight of a gallon of water and how long it takes for a car to fill up and turn over once you drive it into a lake. I was swimming at 7 months old. I can swim. I got that one.

Here is my 5-step eybrow raising tutorial:
Step 1: Raise both eyebrows
Step 2: Squint one eye until that eybrow goes down.
Step 3: Repeat step 2 a few thousand times, preferably where no one can see you, otherwise they'll think you look like Popeye
Step 4: Work on opening the closed eye all th way without the other eyebrow coming down
Step 5: Repeat step 4 a few thousand times.

Congratulations, you should now be able to raise one eyebrow independently of the other!

1) One, usually. Then sometimes I raise the other. Or lower it again. I'm left-eyebrowed, but I'm working on the right one....
2) All the time. More impressive is braiding hair with one hand.
3) Yep! It's very firm writing, which is why I usually don't. Oddly enough, my left-handed upside-down-and-backwards writing is neater than anything my right achieves.
4) Two balls, for a very short period of time. Contact juggling is cooler.
5) Um, no. No.
6) I'm good at not drowning, not at swimming.
7) No, but I've had (involuntary and unwilling) practice.

Let's just say it's really loose and easy to mess up. The table, in fairness, was only a card table. :)

1) I tell myself that I can lift each eyebrow independent of each other, but the person watching me might not notice. :p
2)Yep! :D
3)Yes, I can. You can even read the results!
4)I can juggle one ball. *nods* That's the first step, folks, once you move past the highly entertaining 'throw one ball in the air and watch it fall' step. *is learning from the Klutz book of juggling* ;)
5)Nope. :(
6)Not at all...
7)I know a new use for a tea table...

The only one of these I can do is raise one eyebrow, but I'm told I do it very effectively. With frightening, librarian-like results.

Ha, this reminded me of Megan's talk about how when someone says, "well, everyone has their gifts" it really means "well, YOUR gift is not fill-in-the-blank. You suck at that." Or some such.

But I will take what I can get.

1) I can raise one eyebrow sometimes. The rest of the time I just make a funny face.

2) Yes! But the first time I tried it, I agreed with Gen that it was a little awkward.

3) I can! I used to practise in grade school. My writing is slow, but legible. However, I find it easier to write backwards than forwards.

4) I can juggle wineglasses that are soon to become ex-wineglasses. But not wineglasses that are going to continue being wineglasses for a long time.

5) No. And no.

6) I can swim! Probably not as well as Sophos. :)

7) No one has taught me this, sadly! I think the best defence would be either a) a chainsaw or b) running away. I have a preference for (b).

However, I have been taught how to defend myself empty-handed against someone swinging a sword at me. I can take the sword away from them as they strike. But not in the exact same way that Gen does it.

I didn't know you were going to give us scores! Yay!

I feel honour-bound to say that I shouldn't deserve points for (4), because the wineglasses would be broken very soon. probably within the first two seconds. :P

My sword skills are definitely nowhere near Gen's... or even Costis's. Surprisingly, sword takeaways are taught sooner than actual fighting. Hehe.

1. One
2. Yes
3. Messily
4. No ;[
5. One, no. Two, yes.
6. Yes. I'm not breaking any records, but I'm better than most people.
7. Uh... No.

1. definitly no
2. Yes this skill is needed when holding 6 shopping bags in one hand and your house keys in the other, except when your hair gets caught in the keys...
3. No unless you want to write a nonexistant language, because that's what it looks like.
4. I can juggle one ball!(If that counts) but I am going to stay away from breakable objects
5. Unless you want me to break my neck, arm, leg etc. etc., No.
6. I can knock over a table on accident...

1) It depends, if I'm surprised I raise two, if I'm angry/confused/sarcastic/etc I raise one.
2) Yes. Frankly I've always wondered why Gen found that so difficult.
3) Yes, too slowly for my liking though.
4) I have never been able to juggle, just the idea of juggling wine glasses makes me think I'm going to kill everyone.
5) I can stand on two hands, if I try one I'd end up dying.
6) I can swim reasonably well.
7) No one has ever taught me, but there have been occasions when I've had to defend my self from a table anyway.

(1) I can raise my left eyebrow. Workin' on the right!

(2) Keh... XD I just did that. Yes!

(3) Yes, but not well, and not in a terribly straight line.

(4) *smash* *smash* *smash* Nope... Doesn't look like it. O_O

(5) If I lean against a wall, I can stand on two. If I tried one, I'd probably end up imitating those stop, drop, and roll demonstrations.

(6) Define "very well?" In other words, no... But I can ice skate well!

(7) I taught myself table-defence! I'm working on my black belt. Heave-ho!

Well....Here's some answers from Maria and me!

1) Do you raise one eyebrow or two?
Maria. Only two.
Me. ???? Can I use my hands? (see my mad and sneaky thief skillz!)

2) Can you tuck a strand of hair behind your right ear with your left hand…or vice versa?
Maria Well, of course.
Me " " " (imagine us speaking in chorus, if you can)
3) Can you write with your non-dominant hand?
Maria Well, yes.
Me " " (as above)
4) Can you juggle wine glasses….or anything else?
Maria claims that she cannot juggle anything. I, for one, do not believe her. I know that she can read two -- or even three! -- books at the same time. And so can I. (Those mad thief skillz again! All librarians have them!)
5) Can you stand on one hand…..How about two?
Nothing could be easier, but you have to be very careful not to hurt your hands. Wear soft shoes!
6) Can you swim “very well?”
Maria says she can't, & that's a true fact.
As for me, I can swim. I will leave it to Sophos to judge whether I swim "very well."
7) Has anyone ever taught you how to defend yourself against a table….and can you do it?
We have lots of practice defending ourselves against tables! They are always moving around, ending up in unexpected places, and falling on us. Soft shoes DO NOT help with this one ... and that's all I will say about it.

Maria and I can turn the tables on any table we see!

:-D

Hi, and yes, I adore those books! I would have to say Kavi was my favorite -- but the others really grew on me, and by the end I loved all three of them.
But
Have you read any of her other books? A Matter of Profit is wonderful -- and so are several of her other ones!
