Inspired by all the talk of the books going on because of QT week, and because a certain "underwear" tag was brought to my attention, I couldn't help sharing this QT moment from reading TT with our (me and books,) parents.  I'll put it under the cut in case anyone is visiting before completing the series ...

When we got to the point in TT when everybody thinks that Hamiatha's Gift is gone becasue the cord around the Magus' neck is cut, and they haven't found it in the stream, our parents declared that the Magus "hadn't checked his underwear" yet, so that was where he would find the stone.  Later, when they were quite sure that Gen had snatched Hamiatha's Gift, it changed carriers, but not hiding places.  It was hidden in Gen's underwear.  (I'm not sure if they ever discovered that it was in Gen's hair, after that point, they wouldn't share their suspicions anymore - probably because they thought we would give something away while listening to their suspicions :)

Now I have officialy joined the ranks of the crazy Sounisians and their "underwear" tag.  I hope somebody enjoyed the story!

Does anybody else have any stories of crazy thoughts/suspicions from any parts of the books?

And thanks to Chachic for making this such a fun week!! :)

Haha, very funny...I didn'tknow you were actually going to post! Our mom did mention at one point about remembering that at the very beginning, Gen had mentioned about catching small objects in his braid...

Drashizu, we need to have another meetup so I can hug your neck while discretely pick-pocketing that icon from you. I'll have you know I woke the baby laughing uproariously at it. Well done!

I know. I have no idea why underwear is so big in Sounis. I mean, Gen mentions that the clothes are soft but he never says anything about underwear. ;D

I didn't know underwear was such a big deal util Ms. Turner just told me...I asked if she laughed up her sleeve at the things we come up with here and she said:

booksrgood4u,
Given what Sounis has come up with in the way of Goats and Underwear, why no, I am not laughing up my sleeve. I laugh right out loud.

O! Children, shall I tell you the first of the Tales of Underwear? Sit on the floor near me, then, and listen.

A long time ago, the mysterious Eddis set up this site, named it Sounis (for some reason only she knows), and wandered away. Queen Rowana was the one who got Sounis going, and early on there was talk about sending a fan letter to MWT. Ro was talking about the format a letter might take, and said:

Oh, and the questions can be as personal (what sort of underwear does Gen wear?) or as intellectual as you like. Within the realms of propriety. I guess that means my question on underwear is out the window actually.

I do want to know, did they wear loincloths, Long-john thingies, or absolutely nothing under their britches? :D

Well, as you can guess, that was quite a conversation-starter. This was before Megan had ever commented on the site, so imagine Rowana's surprise a bit later when she received this email (http://sounis.livejournal.com/6847.html). Busted! Megan had been reading the underwear discussion, and since she loves to tease people, had to comment on it.

This all led, a few months later, to The Great Underwear Theory (http://sounis.livejournal.com/38116.html). Go read and enjoy.

Aaah, now I see. To quote the ever qotable Sophos, " A great many things are made clear in hindsight!"

Thanks for filling us baby Sounisians in on the details! :P
