Hi, everybody!

You may remember that my sister posted a vid of a library concert a little while ago, about a war dance that Sophos might possibly do (perhaps in a pub?)

Well, I just found this old vid of a perfomance of the dance my sister posted earlier, and, you know what? I think it has to be Eddisian!

Granted, the fellow who's leading the dancers isn't quite my idea of the MOW, but look at the outfits! Crazy ninja Eddisians, wouldn't you say? So black, and with all that pretty piping (on the clothes, as well as in the music).

I hope the embed works but if not, here's a link, too:

BTW, Here's another cool Georgian dance I found, with daggers! What do you think? Would Eddisians maybe do something similar?

PS Sorry that first vid is a little grainy, but I hope you enjoy it anyway, if you watch! And I wish everybody who is celebrating a happy Labor Day Weekend.

Well, I think they're both great! As to the dagger dance, I will never understand how those fellows can do that without breaking their knees. ;)

I loved the Dance with Daggers. It really reminded me of Gen's dance with Attolia except instead of stealing hairpins, daggers keep appearing from nowhere. Very interesting!

Thank you for posting this.

Here's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcV9OXIAmBY) a new production of the dance, with daggers!, by the grandson and granddaughter of the original creators, outdoors at night in 2010. The uploader's notes include links to other versions, and this (quoting the dance company's website (http://www.sukhishvili.com/repertoire/old_dances/khorumi.html)):

Khorumi (Military dance) - ხორუმი
KHORUMI is one of the most popular dances from Georgia. It dates back to the period of the heroic war against the conquering armies of the Turks, Mongolians, and other nations. It is composed of four parts: the search for the suitable spot for the fighter of the underground army, the approach of the enemy, the battle and the defeat.

I could be wrong but I think it was a promotional video for a traveling Georgian dancing troupe/production (like the Georgian equivalent of Ireland's 'Riverdance'). It would be incredible to see live!
