hi. if anyone has and 'exact' details on eugenides's 'hook hand' such as pictures or other visual references, would you please convey them to me? I am working on my eugenides halloween costume and could use some help with the look of the hook. thank you, i much appreciate any help you can give. thanks!

There's someone who had a great icon with a hook on it. It says 'could be layed out by a toddler with a toasting fork' and the background is a hook. Could the person who has that post it?

I think there was a thread about the covers a while back where about half the posters said, "That new QoA cover is kind of creepy" and the other half said, "What are you talking about? It's just Attolia holding an amphora!"

OMG. I'm not the only one. XD I found out via a conversation like this, with a friend I converted to Eugenidism:

Me: (insert statement about it being surprising and sad about his hand being cut off)
Friend: Yeah. (Pause) I was kind of expecting it though. I mean just look at the cover.
Me: What?
Friend: The cover to Queen of Attolia? She's holding a hook?
Me: What?
Friend: What do you mean what? Look, see it's a hook!
Me: I thought it was one of those squirty dispenser things that hold hand cream.
Friend: What?
Me: Yeah. Kind of a weird thing for her to be holding, on reflection...

I myself am working on how to make a convincing (read: Not little-kid pirate costume) hook for this All Hallows Eve...

I was thinking of going to the hardware store and finding a chain hook or tool hook and then modifying it. How were you thinking of doing it?

Oh my god! I'm gonna try to take pictures of me and CT at our school's halloween party (we're gonna match - I'm going as Eddis) and post them (possibly only the costumes... Mom's really security-conscious, and is certain that there are mad stalkers watching Sounis for reprobatish purposes - more so than the rest of us are) You should too! Which Gen are you going as? Thief, Queen, or King? We're going as Gen and Eddis at the end of Queen... He's angsting over the hook, too, and I'm trying to figure out how to achieve a suitably both military and regal pattern to quilt into a coat...

I'm going as full on Whiny, Bratty, Capricious King of Attolia. I made a lovely long red jacket, and have a pretty blue silk sash (Picked something that didn't go with it...) And I'm going to have to do something very creative with my hair, because it's not long enough for another Chop, but I still need to make a hook. In a dorm room. If I were at home, I'd have no problem, I'd just requisition some sheet-metal and the grinder and sequester myself in the workshop in a suitably Genlike way, but as it is... Maybe I can use the metal shop here... I might even go get a Bota and fill it with cranberry juice for the appropriate... er... prop. Because it's dead fun to pretend to be drunk.

You should see if there's a way to tape a piece of black cloth over the sash to look like ink stains! And if you were to do the drunk-Gen thing, you'd need to get someone to be God-Eugenides, and you could fall occasionally and they could catch you...
