A new readaloud chapter!

This is the first of three.  A long--very long--chapter, and the first to be recorded from A Conspiracy of Kings.  In this one, poor Sounis swears alligience to Attolis, Gen smashes a wine cup, and Sophos muses about Attolia overcoming her own rebels with ten men and a penknife.  Go forth and listen to [livejournal.com profile] heather_el  !

If the audio is choppy, pause it and let it buffer for a bit.  This site has limited options, so if it doesn't offer enough downloads or whatever, please post a comment to let me know.  It's a work in progress, and I apologize for the delay in getting new chapters posted.  It's amazing what one is able to get done once school is OUT.  Yay!

Cat Faber of Echo's Children, author of lots of excellent Bujold-themed filk, has written a Sharing Knife song called "Common Ground." She has it up for free download on bandcamp, http://catfaber.bandcamp.com/album/trial-balloon [lyrics are there, too].

You can comment on her livejournal about it here: http://catsittingstill.livejournal.com/205820.html

Notice the two sets of lyrics and melodies weaving around each other; remind anyone of anyone?

Another fantastic readaloud, this time the Eddis short story read by [livejournal.com profile] puppeteergirl .  Go and listen, now!

This one will really make you think.  Why is Helen "Eddis" and not "Eddia"?  What did poor cousin Lycos do to be exiled?  Why was Helen heartbroken and relieved when he left?  Have we seen the goddess Periphys any other times?   And extra credit if you remember Helen's three brothers' names.

According to amazon.ca, it seems that the paperback version of A Conspiracy Of Kings will be released on August 23rd.

I'll be curious if the paperback version will be including a short story since the King of Attolia did, but we probably won't know until it's out.

So, how many people will be buying the paperback as well?
